Business Preparedness Pathway @ All-Hazards Expo

Saturday, June 14, 2025 (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

We are thrilled to partner with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office to launch a new “Ready & Resilient: Business Preparedness Pathway” inside the annual All-Hazards Expo, Saturday, June 14, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. at the College of Central Florida in Lecanto!

Storms don’t just threaten homes, they can shutter storefronts, derail payroll, and interrupt supply chains. The Business Preparedness Pathway, presented by Tibbetts Lumber Co. LLC, brings together local subject matter experts to share actionable advice and resources that help companies prepare in advance and reopen quickly after a disaster.

• One on one consultations at tabletop booths will run the entire Expo.
• Expert Panel Discussion from 10am – 11am in classroom – proven local planning techniques, storm‑proofing best practices, insurance must‑knows, how to read the forecast, and post‑storm rebuilding tips.
• Gift Card Giveaway – drop your business card during the panel discussion for a chance to win!

Panelists/topics:

  1. Local Planning Techniques – proven preparation strategies that work here in Citrus County - Mike Tringali (F and H Contracting / Crumps Landing)
  2. Insurance Insights - coverage gaps, documentation, claims pitfalls – Tom Ryan (Central Ridge Insurers)
  3. Post-Storm Rebuilding - fraud and consumer protection, permitting, temporary operations, supply chain & lead time realities – Lee Kelley (Home Improvement and More)
  4. Staying Informed on Weather Patterns - understanding the projections, finding reliable sources – Julie Marquez (Bay News 9) & Bobby Deskins (10 Tampa Bay)
  5. Workforce Recovery Playbook - displaced‑worker aid, emergency funds & rapid post‑storm staffing – Penny Spence (CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion)

In addition to the Business Preparedness Pathway, every attendee will receive a free case of 10‑year shelf‑life emergency water (while supplies last). Enjoy live response demonstrations from Citrus County law‑enforcement, fire‑rescue, and EMS units; a Touch‑A‑Truck experience; an interactive Kid Zone; and the opportunity to meet and speak with Spectrum Bay News 9 Weather meteorologist Julie Marquez and 10 Tampa Bay Chief Meteorologist Bobby Deskins. Disaster‑planning tips cover your home, family, pets, and property, and government and non‑profit partners will be on hand with resources. The Salvation Army is serving complimentary hot dogs and chips to keep everyone fueled while they learn.
