As Citrus County experiences rapidly changing population and commercial growth, the need for affordable workforce housing is only increasing. In response, the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Citrus County, is hosting a crucial event designed to bring together key stakeholders, experts, and community members to discuss and strategize solutions for this critical challenge. 

The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, at the Crystal River Church of God – Citrus Springs Campus, 9921 N. Deltona Blvd., Citrus Springs. Doors will open at 8:45 a.m., offering complimentary coffee and a light breakfast. The program will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. 

The program will feature a keynote address by Former Senator Jeff Brandes, renowned for his work in housing policy. Following the keynote, a distinguished panel will discuss various aspects of affordable workforce housing, moderated by Ron Daly, Board Chairman of Habitat for Humanity of Citrus County. The panelists include:

•Bill Aldinger: Director of Policy and Special Programs, Florida Housing Finance Corporation
•Roxanne Young: Executive Director, Habitat for Humanity of Florida
•Josh Wooten: President/CEO, Citrus County Chamber of Commerce
•Ashon Nesbitt: CEO, Florida Housing Coalition
•Michelle Alford: Housing Director, Citrus County Housing Services 

A discussion with local sector experts providing insights into the current climate in Citrus County, along with a brief Q&A session, will follow the panel discussion. The event will conclude with remarks from Citrus County Administrator Steve Howard. 

This event is free and open to the public. However, seating is limited, and RSVPs are required to ensure your space. We encourage all community members passionate about addressing sustainable solutions for affordable workforce housing to join us for this important discussion.
